[Wedge100BF-series] EC code upgrade procedures Follow
Purpose:
This post shows the procedures to upgrade EC code.
Model:
Wedge100BF-32X/65X
Preparation:
A. Personal computer
B. EC code
- Download the EC code for your own device.
- Reference: How to download the current firmware?
C. Serial Console cable:
- A cable which attached in the original box.
D. Console terminal
- Putty,Teraterm,SecureCRT,etc...
E. USB-stick
- USB-stick with FAT32 format
Procedure:
Step 1. Put upgrade files in USB-stick and insert it to switch
Make sure your USB-stick format is FAT32.
Copy upgrade files (PCOM-B634VG-BFT_EC_R04E01.BIN, Update.efi) to USB-stick.
Insert USB-stick in switch.
Step 2. Enter UEFI: Built-in EFI shell
- Reboot COM-E via openBMC, use command
root@bmc:~#wedge_power.sh off
root@bmc:~#wedge_power.sh on; sol.sh
- Press “ESC” when prompt as below

At “Save & Exit” page, choose [Built-in EFI shell]
Step 3. Enter commands to upgrade
- Check your USB code
- Enter upgrade commands
Shell>fs0:
fs0:\>Update.efi
Step 4. DUT auto Reboot
When system finish upgrade, COM-E automatically reboot
After COM-E reset, press [ctrl + x] enter openBMC to check EC code
localhost login:
-----------------------
Exit from SOL session.
Step 5. Confirm EC code version
On openBMC, use command [cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-4/4-0033/version], result as below
root@bmc:~# cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-4/4-0033/version
EC Version R=0x04 E=0x01 T=0x 0
root@bmc:~#
