Creating Your First Cloud Follow
What is a "cloud" exactly?
A cloud on the ecCloud Controller is just like an account, and within this account, there are one or more "sites". Sites allow you to logically group your Edgecore & IgniteNet devices by location, as well as manage the devices in bulk.
Each cloud has its own distinct set of users, sites, configuration settings, etc. You, as an end-user, can join as many clouds as you want, with different roles on each cloud.
Creating your first Cloud
You must have a valid email address in order to create your user profile.
- If you don't yet have a login to the ecCLOUD , click the "I want to register" link from the login page.
- Fill in your name, email address, and accept the user agreement.
- You should receive a verification email. Click on the link within the email in order to verify your account.
-
Once you are registered as a user on the ecCLOUD , you will be given the option to create a cloud after you first login:
That's it! You now have an ecCLOUD Cloud!
Once you've created your first cloud, you can manage your cloud's settings, such as change the cloud name, description, enable beta features, and more, or go ahead and create your first site and register some devices.
All newly-created clouds have the "Trial" plan, which allows you to register up to 50 devices. If you'd like to register more than this, you can upgrade from the "Trial" plan to the "Core Cloud" plan or "Virtual Private Cloud" plan from the cloud-level "Licensing & Billing" menu item. You can read more on our main website about the different plan options.
